«Ciò che non possiamo mai essere – scriveva Erving Goffman – è semplicemente uomini e donne. Noi siamo ciò che fingiamo di essere» (Coser 2002, 623). Con questa affermazione, il sociologo canadese sottolineava che in quanto esseri umani siamo costretti, volenti o nolenti, a recitare un ruolo, ad interpretare una parte all’interno della società in cui siamo nati e cresciuti e questo “spettacolo” deve durare tutto il tempo in cui viviamo.
Abstract
Faced with an ever-changing context and an ever-lacking sense and meaning, the contemporary individual experiences various forms of escape from himself and from others that David Le Breton, through careful social-anthropological analysis, investigates in depth, giving us a complex and useful scenario for understanding the deepest sense of some “conducts” of life, especially those concerning the new generations.
